  1. In what way, if at all, does God still use leaders like Joshua to fulfill His promises?

  2. What does it mean that God will not fail us or forsake us?

  3. How is that promise seen in the life of Israel in both obedience and disobedience?

  4. In what ways does the promise in Joshua 1:5 "I will not fail you or forsake you" and Joshua 1:9 "God is with you", give us courage and strength to live our lives daily?

  5. Discuss what it means to "be careful to do all" that is written in the word. What does that mean and how does that apply to those who live by grace?

  6. What does it mean to not allow "this book of the law" to depart from your mouth?

  7. What does it mean to meditate?

  8. In a practical sense what are some of the ways we can meditate on the Word of God?

  9. What does it mean to meditate on the word day and night and how can one actually do that? What does doing that actually entail?
